Bandoeng, As a city of church

In the era of Dutch settlement arriving here around 1864, they also began to spread out the missionary work, mostly were coming as The Protestants. In the period of 1890, there was a small but a very art deco building used as a school for the first time for most Protestants before later on turning to be a first church for the protestant in Bandoeng. Officially established in 1901 to be a church namely Bethel, they started the missionary working for most domestic people, started by opening the school, medical centre, and a public library. Antiques can be found here very dramatically, such as a stage and a podium made from a very strong jati wood made in 1870 sent by the missionares from Dutch, a very old Bible sent by a preacher from Manado in 1906, and most chairs used for a Sunday sermon are stil originally made in Dutch around 1890.

That title reminds me of lots of precious heritages in Bandoeng, The Parisj Van Java. Known as the centre of old time life style, Bandoeng is also famous for the cool climate and a very cozy residential area. The strategy of the Dutch settlement first time in Bandoeng (somehow they called it 'Preanger') was very suitable to make Bandoeng as a recreational area after a very exhausting working hour along in Batavia..(namely Djakarta).

The Romantic and lovable places to eat...this was a real beginning of Bandoeng as a city of fine dining and most likely similiar places to cafes to the ones settled in Parisj. An European classical style for hanging out with friends, families and couples made Bandoeng a comfy place to have hour-hanging out in the street cafe as it was located in Braga Vet..(namely Braga street now on). First Fine dining in Bandoeng with the Buffet namely Risjtaffel was figured out to find in the Cafe namely Braga Vertistj est 1924 (now on Braga Permai)and almost visited by cheering and relaxing Dutch from Batavia and by most European.

Light meals, breakfast breads consisting of various types, and very lovable cakes and taarts, and not to forget.....very juicy cookies are available stil in the same and original names and unchangable taste and atmosphere.
